Mechanical Advantages Presentation - Learning Mechanical Advantage of Gears
On the google presentation I created below, I chose the topic about "mechanical advantages" of gears. It is about how mechanical advantage work and why does it effect gears. I learned that mechanical advantages have a big effect on gears and how mechanical advantages work. Such as, it is a benefit because if someone was trying to build a race car they would want to know if small gear driving big gear will be faster, or big gear drive small gear will be faster. I inserted in the information about mechanical advantages in the google presentation. By doing activities this way, I can go back to my main information I needed because it is inserted in the presentation. I think it was an effective project because only main details are inserted in, so by inserting the main details we had learn the whole subject and putting it in a presentation is showing what we learn and summarizing our understanding to the topic. It is also a place we can go back to, so we can refresh the project in our minds.
This project is like reading and summarizing because after I had a lesson on how mechanical advantages work, I put it into a presentation showing I understand it. Putting the topic into a presentation is like summarizing it. Presentation is an easy to use tool. All you have to do is to insert in the information. There are also many other tools in google presentation that you can use. Such as, research, inserting image, or performing the layout of the sheet. |

Mechanical Advantages Multi Media-Thing link
Click to set custom HTML
I did this project(to the right) by using "thing link". By using thing link I put in my image and describe each function. (Try it out.) It is very similar to the presentation I did above. I learned that by using thing link it is very simple, and you can describe images with simple captions easily. Also, it doesn't require a lot or facts that should be written in paragraphs. I think this is an effective project for it involves specific facts and doesn't require much work to be done. I can remember how thing link help me by the captions that help the details. Also by the simple layout, I could easily get my information I need or add information that there needs to be.
Finding the mechanical advantages of gear trains is particularly like math, because we had to do multiplication and proportions to find the mechanical advantages of things if we are doing it mathematically. Therefore, often I had to make proportion(s) to solve the problems quickly. In conclusion, using thing link to do this project was a good idea for everything in it was very simple. |

Mechanical Advantage Google Forms (Instant Feedback) - Quiz Time
This is the "Mechanical Advantage Quiz" I made on google forms. If you answer a question incorrectly, it will show you the right answer and you can go back and change it. I learned that it is easier to solve a problem if you can learn from your mistakes. Mechanical Advantages(Instant Feedback) is based on the subject and the information on the topic of Gears, the lesson of Mechanical Advantage.
Using Google Spreadsheet was simple and quick, I just needed to insert in the questions, answers, and feedback. I think that this was an effective project because I was able to learn a knew way on how to give feedback to my own questions. I could remember this project by the inserting the instant feedback. |

Mechanical Advantage - Testing Time
This is the "Mechanical Advantage Quiz" I created. To try it, click the "Google Form Quiz" button. To do this activity, I inserted question of my own and fixed everything out. By using "Google Forms" I was able to make my quiz quick and easy. All the information are on the page, so I do not have to go look out of the site. Therefore creating this activity with "Google Forms" was quite simple.
The test I created was related to the "Mechanical Advantage" ideas I did above. The questions are all from the topics. I think this was an effective project because I am learning something new. I haven't create a quiz before, and it seems, so simple. By making quizzes I will be able to know if the reader understand my lesson. The quiz will help me remember that when I want to test others I could use it. |
