The pros to writing math in computer are that you can always review the lesson that you just learned. If you can write about the math that you just done, then that meant you understand it well. Also, you can find ways to use the math in life. After, many times of doing the math over and over, you will remember it better. Therefore, writing about math on Monday is a good thing because the topic is what we had recently learned and writing a reflection on it will help us remember it better and use it well.
The new standard, Common Core is a well developed standard that will help people. Even though it is more writing, the reviewing of a topic is always a good thing. It is a standard that is used to support topics. Therefore, Common Core standard will prove things with evidence and improve works.

The most challenging math that I learned this year is introducing to algebra. It was hard to get familiar with the "x" and "y"s. At first, I would get confused of what x equals and what y equals. Also, I didn't know what to subtract from each sides if there was a long equation problem. I didn't know where to start first and usually when I finish solving the problem, it is always wrong because I missed a step or just solve it incorrectly.
However, I began to figure all this out when I was requested to take a quiz on that topic. When I was doing the problems, I try to do it carefully and remembering each step. Also, I did it slowly enough to realize something that the math was very easy.

Math and science are similar because in science we use math, and in math we use science. However, people don't really notice it. As you can see, without math in science you cannot solve equations to find the answer to problems. As I figured, about 75% of science is math. In, science you use lots of math to find the rate, the height, the differences between recent equations from later equations. Math is use throughout science and it is hard to figure out which is math and which is science because it had fit together for a long time ago.
Math on the other hand, uses science about 50%. Math may use science when solving and word problem or something science related. However, math is use in science; science isn't really.use in math. Therefore, science everywhere, so it is hard to say that we don't use it.

Negative numbers are numbers with both negative and positive signs. They are used in math to find the distance or amount of things. However, it is usually about distance. Like if the word problem said," The temperature in the morning is 68 degrees and the temperature in the afternoon is 89 degrees. What is the degree in between?" As you can see the temperature rise, so the problem written out is negative 68 + positive 89. Negative plus a positive you subtract. 89-68 the temperature in between is 21. The temperature change is 21.
Negative numbers are used in real life too. It is like the situation I stated above about temperature. However, negatives numbers can be used in many more situations. The use of negative numbers are to find the distance, time, temperature, or anything in between.

To solve for an equation, such as 2x+7=15 we do it step by step. Firstly, we combine like terms, like 7x, 2h, and so on. Since there are no like terms, we simply skip that step. Next, we subtract seven from each side. Since we want both of the sides around the equal sign to be equal we subtract using the seven. We subtract because we need to do the opposite of adding. Seven minus seven, cross it off;15-7 equals 8. 2x=8. Divide two from both sides. Two divided by two cross it off; eight divided by two equals four. Therefore, four is the answer.
As you can see, solving equations isn't very hard to do. You just have to do it step-by-step like order of operation. The steps to solve for equations are combine like term, subtract or add each number, make sure to keep the equation in balance. Finally, divide with the like term and you get your answer.

There are two ways to convert a fraction into a decimal. The first way is to do it by using place values. Look at the decimal, if it is a regular decimal all you have to do is to use place values. If the decimal is 0.33. Use place values. Ones, then tens, then hundreds. The answer is 33/100, because you keep the numbers in the decimal and just put in the place value as the denominator. I the decimal is 3.42, then go for the place value again. Ones, tens, hundreds. The number is 42/100 and add the 3 and therefore the number is 3 42/100. However, you are not done, simplify 3 42/100, which equals 3 21/50.
Another way is to multiply or find the least common denominator. If the decimal was .11, then make it into a fraction by putting a one under it. Next, you get .11/1, then multiply it with 100. You should get 11/100. Since you don't need to simplify the answer is still 11/100. If it were to be a mix number like 1 11/100 when you convert it to a fraction, keep the one or whole number and you should end up with 1 11/100. I prefer using the least common multiple, to convert the decimal into a fraction because it is easier not to remember all the place values. Also, multiplying by a hundred is simple and cannot be hard.

There are two ways to convert a fraction into a decimal. But which way is better? There is no right or wrong way. One way is to divide the denominator by the numerator. If it is a mix number, change it into an improper fraction by multiplying the denominator by the whole number and adding the numerator to it. Then divide the numerator into the denominator and that it how to turn a fraction into a decimal.
Another way is to know your place values. If the fraction was one tenth, in decimals place values, it would be ones, decimal, tens, hundred, and so on. Therefore, the decimal will be 0.1, because there is no whole number, so there should only be a one in the tens place. Sometimes if the fraction is like 1/4 then you will have to divide the numerator into the denominator because there is no place values for that. I like using the way where you divide the numerator into the denominator. It is more exact too.

I think that ratio is better to use than percentages because by using percentages you don't get the exact number. Such as, 35%, you do not know how much 35% percent is unless you do the math and that takes more time. Sometimes you may end up with decimals, and that is even harder to solve the problem. Very least of the time, you do not have to do the math because each percent represent one item or thing.
If I owned a restaurant and is running short on bread, I would use a ratio to help me by dividing it up into quarters to equal 100. So it will be like one fourth, two fourth, and so on. The ones equal 25. What if I had spend half of my amount of bread and needed more? Well, that will be using 2/4 of bread and to keep supplies full, I will simply buy another 2/4. I buy another 2/4 loaves of bread because I want to keep my supplies full to a 100%. So, 2/4+2/4 equals 4/4 or one whole. By using a ratio you know how much quantities you are going to buy. You could divide up 100 into how much you would like, as long as it is equal to 100.

To find the circumference of a circle with a radius of three, first you have to figure the formula which is pi times the diameter. The radius is only half of the diameter, so to figure the diameter multiply three with two or add three and three. The diameter is six. Next multiply pi, which equals 3.14 with 6, the diameter. 3.14 times six equals 18.84. That's how you find the circumference of circles.
If there is already a diameter, just multiply it by 3.14. With pi, you can find the diameter or half of a circle. However I'm only explaining how to find the diameter of a circle here. There may be other ways of solving for the circumference of a circle and I may not know how to do it. However I was taught this way and it seems to be easy.

Pi is 3.14 or 22/7. It is used to find diameter or circumference of a circle. It is actually the circumference of a circle. To solve for Pi or circumference of a circle you will need to find the size of the outer layer of the circle, then find half the measure of the circle. Now divide the outer layer measurement with the half measure and that will be your answer. Your answer may vary from the size of the circle, but still pi is the most accurate measurement of pi. 22/7 is another way of saying pi. It is the fraction form of pi and is not commonly used. We use 22/7 when solving fractions. 3.14 is a decimal, but it is much more simple to multiply it.22/7 is 22 divided by 7 and that is 3.14 with a line over three because it is just a very long number. There are so many digits we can't even count it all. The digits seem to never end and goes on forever.
Most people don't use pi because it is for finding the amount around a circle. People don't need to find circles, but squares. During Pi day in my algebra class, there will be an activity where you memorize as many Pi digits as you can. Did you know that pi is a homophone? It sounds like pie, but is actually very different from it. That is what homophone mean: sound the same, spell differently, and have different meaning.
