It was a beautiful day when the small goldfish was emerging from its egg. At his first sight he saw his parents looking at him. They named him Miles for his speed at first sight. Miles was an active boy, and his parents loved that. "It will help him in his life to escape from predators" they said. Because Miles was so fast he would join all the race clubs at school. Therefore, he had many friends, however his two best friends were Tin and Jimmy. Tin was a silver metal colored fish, so that gave him his name. Everyday after school the three friends would go to the coral reef and race around. Then at noon they would return home and do their homework. Everyday they pretty much follow this routine. However one day Miles was sick and he didn't attend school. In that case, after school his two friends went over to his house. There they found him sleeping in bed. Miles' mother greeted Tin and Jimmy and offered then sea co. Which is a like hot co co, but made out of sea weed. After they finish their drinks Miles' father returned from his job. He then told the two friends to return home because Miles would not be able to get up and play with them.
The next day, still Miles didn't attend. They thought he would be very sick, so together Tin and Jimmy made two "get well' cards for Miles. After it was done it was as colorful as corals. Then they took it to the mail center and the mailman mailed it to Miles mailbox. Afterwards when Miles mom went out to fetch the mail she found the letters and gave it to Miles. Miles was very happy with the letter and he quickly healed. On the third day Miles was back to school again.
When he returned it was "Cooking Week", so everyone in the school had to bring a food from home to share it into the festival that day. Then everyone will each have a taste with everything. Next after school, instead of going to play at the coral playground each of the friends went home and helped the moms cook a delicious food. Tin helped his mom cooked a weedy sushi dish that is made out of mostly edible weeds. Jimmy helped his mom made a rare kind of soup called misty green. Finally, Miles help his mom made a sweet weed; it is a drink made of sweet berries mixed with sea weed and bananas. Then tomorrow at the festival the three friends tried out each others' and everybody's dish. Some tasted weird, sweet, or bitter. However they all enjoy the time over there.

It was a chilly, cold morning that I have to go to work. I work carrying boxes to the trains. It was a tiring job, and I get little paid, only 35 dollars a day. I was very tired after work, but instead of riding the cart or bus home, I walked. I have worked here for nearly a year. With all the hard-working I grew tired and set off to find a new job. The first few days there were no jobs available, however after a week it was a new month, and there were more jobs open. I got a job in an old chocolate factory where I had to put in the ingredients to the type of chocolate. The first day I needed to make mint, caramel, and fudge. During the first three hours I put in leaves into the hot chocolate pan. Then I start next with throwing in chunks of caramel. Finally, the last thing to do was add the fudge. After each ingredient was thrown in I press the  red button on the control panel.
It was good during the first few days, anyways after a few days after I started to wonder why I was not with the other employees. Instead I was alone in an empty room with a machine and ingredients. One day while I was throwing in mints into the chocolate another handful of mint was thrown in beside me. As I looked up and around nothing was in sight. Day after day it happened again and again, so one day I shout out who was it and why is it here. Suddenly right afterwards a chill and shake shuttered in my back.
A soft young voice said" This is my place to work and you should retreat.'' Scared from the voice and where it was coming from I ran out of the room and into the manager's office where he was still drinking coffee. I shouted out" Something in my work room is talking to me; I think it is a ghost!" The manager said in his high voice" Nonsense!" "My work place isn't haunted." I get the point that he knows something too. "So... it is haunted" I said after him. He wasn't very please with his and my answer, and he wanted to take back his words. He nodded that I'm right. He explained that she was a girl who loved to work here, but she couldn't because he was didn't need her working. So she worked there separately from the others. "After her death I bought her room that connected to ours." he said sadly. "That angered her, so she always haunt my employees." he said desperately. "I thought of an idea to make a new factory with her name." I said. "Maybe we should go tell her." "I've heard it.." trailed a voice. " I also agreed, thank you..." Since it was a great benefit we all agreed and the new factory went well.
                                                                                      The End

There are lots of way to stop struggle or improve struggle. Americans think struggle is a bad thing and loses efforts. However Asians think it is a way to improve knowledge and helps the students out. In a post I've read it is said that a struggling Japanese student was trying to draw three-dimensional cube, and the teacher invites him to the board to show his work. The boy was having errors at first, But at the end of class he actually got it. With the applause of the class he went back and sit down. As Jim Stigler watched him he thought of the contrast between the cultures.
Another person, like Jim Stigler watch the contrast between the Taiwanese and American mothers reactions to their child. Her name was Jing Li. The American mother said it was the intelligence of her child while the Taiwanese mother said it through her child's practices. As the two paired up as partners they decide to give the first graders an impossible question for them to solve. The American children only took glance of it for 30 seconds, while the Japanese students took the whole hour to solve the question. However, they can't solve it too. So as you can see it is the Asian cultures tends to be more stubborn. Anyways that's not the point, it is that everyone has their own set of knowledge, so it depends on how much they know of it.
