I am looking forward to "Winter Break" because I really wanted to celebrate Christmas with my family. My favorite thing of Christmas is opening presents and see what I got. Then after that I could play and use the gifts all day long. My second favorite thing of "Winter Break" is that I do not have to wake up early in the cold, freezing, and chilly mornings to go to school. I don't like waking up in the cold mornings because it is so chilly that I'm already cold once I get out of bed. I also don't like going outside in the icy mornings, it gives me allergies or cause a running nose.
Not only that, I want to go to the mountains and play in the snow. The beautiful white snow and hard and fun. I remember the last time my family and I went, it was tremendously fun. That's why my dad and I thought of going again. Even though it is cold in the mountains I don't really mind because of the beautiful snow that we are going to throw and have fun with. Also, it is suppose to be cold up there. It is a wonderful place to be relaxing at. Maybe not to stay overnight, but to just make huge snowmen and throw snowballs.
Anyways winter is a fun time to be, and there are lots of exciting things you can do over the season. It's just one more day until winter break!

The are many things that the newly civilization borrowed from the Chinese. However I think this is the  most important thing the Japanese borrowed from the Chinese. The Japanese had the own language, but they do not have a written language, so they could only speak. That was why the Japanese borrowed the characters of the Chinese and convert it to Japanese sound. The effect, the Japanese and the Chinese writings are so similar because only the sounds were different. Still, in general, it is very complicated to learn because there are thousands of characters in these two languages, two thousand, five hundred(2,500) to be exact. Therefore learning neither language is hard, but similar.
Japanese poems that followed a system called haiku, haiku is a five line poem with five syllables on the first line and seven syllables on the second line. This process repeats as the poems go on. Even though the people of Japan were Japanese the men wrote their poems in Chinese and the Japanese women wrote their poems in Japanese. Without the Chinese the Japanese wouldn't have a written language. Having no written language means the Japanese could only travel to send messages. Now that would be hard.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and I did not want to wake up and work on the fields. However if I didn't I may not have enough food for later on, so I got up. After an hour pulling weeds I called out to my parents and told them to come help me. As the headed toward me we all heard a sound of like thunder, but as I listen closely it was the sound of running horse hooves. As my heart quickly beat I also heard the drums beat. My parents and I know that it was the Mongols. They were invading our city, the emperor must have angered one of their group member. My thought ran through my head thinking of my father's dreadful stories about the Mongols. My dad raced toward me and pushed and pulled me inside the house, and I manage to keep up and not fall. My parents snatched a few supplies from the house and we left the city into the woods.
It wasn't as danger when we reach the woodlands, but we still have to keep moving before the Mongols follow up on us. We knew the Mongols would stay few days at the city to destroy it so we may have enough time to get mid-way near the ocean. At night we were sleepless, watching for if there was any sign of the Mongols approach. During the day my parents and I went out to gather edible fruit while my dad hunt for a short time. My mom would quickly cook the meal and we would finish up and start packing. One night we heard a faint cry from far away. My dad was sure for it to be the Mongols so instead of resting there we kept on moving until it was the middle of the night, then we fell asleep.
After a few more days we reached a busy town. As we were walking a man ask if we need help. We answer politely that we do and told him the story. Frightened, he told us to keep walking until we reach the secret harbor then take the ship to a new land. While we went on our ways he quickly ran to the emperor that the Mongols are coming and they must leave the city. The emperor announced the news and all the people of the city fled to the secret harbor. We were lucky for not having to wait because my parents and I were the first to arrive, before the city people fled here. As I looked behind the thousands of people were packed until the ship could carry no more. After a week the Mongols reached the city but know one was in sight. So the Mongols thought it was an abandon city and left.
