I am looking forward to Spring Break because we haven't have a break in a while. Also, my parents plan of taking us out of town. I do not know where, but I believe it will  be somewhere fun. My mom planned going to Universal Studio, but still, I don't think it will be this year. Our family wont be able to afford the cost. Even if we aren't going anywhere, I don't mind staying home. Our family had just bought two new pets. They are parrots, that will keep me busy and company. I know my siblings wouldn't want to stay home, but there are always activities at home that keep them happy.
I think spring break will be a fun time with the family. It will be a relaxing time for everyone. There should be much excitement too. I think during spring break my family and I will go out of town.

There are two famous Renaissance artist, Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. I think it is better to meet Leonardo because it is said that he is easier to get along with and follow rules. While Michelangelo is harder to get along with and doesn't follow rules. I will not want to get in trouble, maybe I won't for he is famous and he works inside the walls. I prefer being with Leonardo for he looks much more wise and may be a great teacher to me.
Both of these famous people live during the Renaissance, the time of glory in Europe. Leonardo is older than Michelangelo, and they like different subjects, even though they are none for their beautiful arts. Michelangelo is a sculptor and Leonardo is more to the inventing or science side. However, they had made many famous great works such as David, created by Michelangelo and the Mono Lisa painted by Leonardo. The two were some of the greatest artist that ever lived in the Renaissance.

My favorite topic of the Middle Ages is about the Black Death. It was a time of death in parts of Europe and killed most of the people. Therefore, the Black Death is a time of sadness to the people who loss their loves. Many with the disease mostly don't survive so thousands of people died. The Black Death was occuring often and didn't die out easily because during the Middle Ages Europe wasn't a clean place and neither were the people. The people don't wash their hands, take baths daily, and didn't do much more health control.
With all the bad things happening the people began to notice that they no longer need to live in thier villages and moved off to the towns and cities. People began to wander away from their villages because the fudual system began to fell apart and they were no longer were under control of lords. When moving into towns and cities the people found jobs and receive money and also they were treat better than living back at their poor cottages. In general, the Black Death was a bad time and affected the population of Europe, but it also gave people freedom.

The Black Death was a disease that killed about one third of the people in Europe. That's so many people, with that the Black Death may clear towns or villages. The Black Death was brought to Europe from China. However in the Middle Ages, Christians blamed Jews that they brought and spread the disease. During the trades, infected rats may have climbed aboard and was accidentally brought back to the homeland of the traders. With this the people that are bitten by these infected creatures get buboes or bumps somewhere around their body and within a day he or she dies. Then within a week the whole family dies. There is no cure for the Black Death so many people loss their lives.
The rats are infected by fleas, then when they bite people it pass on the disease. There are two kinds of disease within the Black Death. One travels in air and it is even deadlier than the buboes. It kills the people in less than a day. The Black Death affected Europe's population most, it cleared away about 1,000 villages. The Black Death was a major threat to the Europeans.

One day news arrive from the pope. He said that my uncle had to go fight and take back the Holy Land, so he could help our Christian people. However, my Uncle was very sick and old also my Dad wasn't home from a battle. Also, all my close family members were busy. Since my Uncle couldn't go he ask some one from our family to go and my mother thought it should be me. She said we'll do some planning before the day I leave. That night however I studied of how to fight in the Holy Land. I studied what we have to do to get there also my mother gave a map that will guide the army and me there.
Then tomorrow my mother and I planned that we'll need about a hundred knights to go. We also need lots of the train knights. To help me along the way my mother provided some servants for me. Then the rest was up to me. The next day my mother wished me luck to win the war and I left. I didn't have to get any supplies for my servants and most knights were carrying them already. However as we head past the castle wall I could see throught the horizon that we still have thousands and thousands of miles to go.
After about 35 or 40 miles we stop to rest for the night. As the knights were setting up tents, I looked around to check if we have any followers or enemies. When all the tents were ready everyone settled in and the night grew very quiet, excep for some snoring knights. The next day, I got up and went over at the breakfast table, where everyone was trying to settle in on the small table. After we all had a small breakfast, we set off again. Every 15 or 20 miles we'll come across some people living in the woods. usually alone or in group. We asked if they'll join us or they will be sent back to the castle. Most of them followed us and less returned to the castle.
One night as we were settling to sleep my servants and I heard a shrill cry. It seemed as if someone was caught. As the servants and I got out we could see torch lights flickering. Then we thought there must have been invaders. As we set off for the look out everyone was quiet. We didn't see anyone until we reach some where in the forest. Then there was a yell from some where and we charged at it. Then it came to be some invaders. We had a battle for about two hours or so and then we won and searched the invaders if they had any goods. After that night we usually get attacked and I discover we are in a place without protection and where the Christians very less likely reach.
For that, I called on all the knights and servants for a meeting or planning every night. One time in battle I was injured badly and almost cause me to die. However one of my servants knew some herbs that will ease it and for that she saved my life. After about a month we finally reached the Holy Land. There the Muslims were not prepared and we quickly took them down. At first we thought there were too many of them, but soon there wern't as many left. There we conquered the Holy Land. Before I returned home I left about 30 knights there and made the way home to tell the news.

It had been a beautiful day and I had just had a tour around our town, even though I've seen it many times. It just a beautiful sight to see. However when I got home things weren't so beautiful. A servant told me to go meet my father at once. Curious about the big rush I went to go meet my father. He was a strong and rich king. Sitting in the throne made him look even bigger too me.
"What is it?" I said. He replied that I should go sit down first and obeyed. "Now, you are grown enough to be married," he said in his gentle voice. I looked puzzled for a moment, but I get the thought of my father. "It's because it is from the alliance from the close connection to my friend in England." he said. "But why?"  I whined. He explain that if I like the idea. For I have no choice to choose I simply said "OK.."
Then I will invite my friend to come over and you'll be marry as soon as possible.
In the next week they arrived for my father send the invitation to the fastest mail carrier. I was very nervous, but my sister and my Mom looked happy as they help dress me up to greet the friends. I asked my Mom"Mom, do I have to go?" "Yes, dear" she replied in a soft voice, "I get the feeling..." My Mom and my sister found me a beautifully decorated dress with white pearls on it.
As I entered my father's hall to his room I felt a chill run through me. "Nothing's going to happen..." I whispered to myself. My sister hold my palms tightly, so I would stop shaking. A second after I sat down the friends had arrived. I could see the friendly twinkle in their eyes. After what it seemed like a meeting and planning for the wedding my father told me and the prince to go outside while they talk about some business.
When we stepped outside the prince asked me a few questions then we slipped into a long talk. Somewhere in between our talk I heard my mother whispered "They will make a great couple." After my father and my father-in-law came out they announced that the marriage is set tomorrow and we'll be leaving the next day. Everything went well and on the day we left to France, I found it really fast. However approaching the new kingdom will be a new task to me. I should be prepare to be on my best.

I was alone since my mother died and now I am a servant to Bear, my new lord or master. Before, I was on my own and trying to find food day by day. I was blame to be a wolf's head by the steward, which means anybody may kill me. So, I was always careful and prayed of not to be found. I didn't want to remember the night that I guess the boy tricked me into a trap or escape. I also didn't understand why Father Quinel was killed, but I knew why the steward was trying to kill me. Since I overheard his talk with a man when I was hiding. For that, he proclaim me a wolf's head and lied to the villagers that I stolen his money.
Anyways, I was angry a Bear for not letting me escape on my own. When he caught me, Bear made me swear not to betray him or God will strike me dead in my footsteps. I found this massive man in a village that was killed by the Black Death a few years ago. He too was like me for he was searching for food day by day, that's why he was in the village searching for food. I think we'll get along better in the future.

It was a very sunny day when I awake to go work on the fields. Today I had to pull the weeds as always. I got up very early at the crack of dawn, and most people aren't awake. As I walk through the narrow woods I thought of what I should do when I got back home. When I reached the field I was about morning and started working. After a short while, my Dad and younger sister come out and help me. We work all day long and was very tired. In the afternoon we returned home. By the river we saw some sails, but didn't know it was the Vikings, we thought it was some fishing men. It was a long walk back home and we were very tired, so we didn't rush. However instead of a bustling city our city was very quiet and only the sound of flames burning was heard.
My Dad hid my sister and me into a dark bush while he suspiciously go check on the village. AS he reached the top of the hill I heard him gasp. With my curiosity I rose up and follow him as my sister tagged along. We too gasp from the sight. Our village was burning and people were killed. After staring at the village for a while we head for our house we heard coughing.
It was from our house, as we lift the logs and house parts we saw the family in there. They were not injured badly, but got ill from all the smoke. However, they healed within a few weeks. Then we headed for a new town, somewhere where the Vikings are less likely to approach.

Now in my core class we are in the medieval time of history. We had just started studying about Charlemagne or Charles the great. He was a king in Europe during the middle ages. The most odd thing was that he was crowned by a pope. During those times kings and popes hate each other for their seek of power. However, Charlemagne was crowned king by a pope because he was a Christian. The popes taught Christianity and was happy for him to be king.
Some important thing that Charlemagne did was he united Europe under his rule. He roamed a big empire, almost a big as Rome. With this he spread Christianity because in every place that he ruled he build schools or learning places for people to learn. There were churches that taught the religion to everyone. Charlemagne was someone who liked learning and so he surround himself with different people scholars. With this he also made a learning place called Achen were it was a place of like a palace. However with his so great improvement his empire was harmed by Saxons,  Germanic tribesmen because of his weak followers. That was why his empire didn't lasted very long.

My two main New Year's Resolution or goal this year is to be a good person and focus on my work grades. I want to improve all my grades by just not to get a high grade, but also understand the lesson. I want to attend school daily and be good at where ever I go. I want to have a good attitude and always be on my best. To succeed this I have been acting much more wise and nice than before. To also succeed in my work grade I asked for help, asked questions, and always try to understand the lesson.
Getting good grades at school is a very important, but even better you have to know the topic. If you only get good grades, then you just don't understand the lesson well. Now in Pre-Algebra I am having difficulties in a topic of solving called "Finding Percents." The last two days ago I couldn't find the answer to the problems. Since it was so confusing at first I tried to say that all the problems with percents in it you'll have to do it step by step and the problems without percents(which I know how to do) I will just divide. However I figured I was wrong when I was assigned to watch a video today for more information off the topic. Tonight I realized that the problems with percents were still different from eachother. One was like a word problem where you do step by step, then there was one were you just multiply, and another was to find out how much there was before the decline. So I have got these all mixed up. But now it is very easy for me.
To be polite and kind to others is a good way to not cause problems. It also makes you a better person. When your wise you are more faithful to do the work and jump into the ease. It cause less frustration.
As you can see, I am still trying to improve my goals throughout the year. Maybe I may have a better New Year's Resolution next year.
